Bride

The story continues…the day that Micah proposed on bended knee, and asked me to be his wife is a day that I will cherish forever. My future husband’s attention to detail and unique style of making me smile is a “gift”. There is so much thought and consideration put into everything he does. When I say this man carefully orchestrated this moment and left no stone unturned; he left no stone unturned.

A few years ago, I took up painting -  yes painting! Sipping and Painting with my girlfriends became my little escape and  fun thing to do. Micah took that one little detail and hit it out of the park. He sweetly surprised me with the best proposal EVER! I was invited to join  his sister Harleta on March 25, 2017 to a Sip and Paint. During the painting lesson Araya (Micah's niece) whom I've known since she was a baby, entered the bathroom with me to tell me a secret that totally through me off course. That was the pump-fake in the making -  she was clearly a part of his plot to lure me away so he could magically appear.

Upon exiting the bathroom the instructor drew our attention to the front to view a painting she had been working on.  The paining read, "I have found the one whom my soul loves, Will you marry me"?  In my mind, I was like that is so sweet, but I was so distracted by the bathroom conversation with Araya, I simply returned to my own painting in deep concerned thought.  A few minutes went by and I turned around to find Micah and Little Micah standing behind me. It still did not click as I thought perhaps we were all going to dinner afterwards being as though most of his family were there already.  The next thing I knew Micah gently grabbed my hand and started publicly professing his love for me in front of everyone. My mind was in slow motion, fast forward and rewind all at once putting it all together. As he bended his knee and asked for my hand in marriage, my heart stopped. I know it did, even if for a second. I fell in love with my ring before he slipped it on my finger – not because of how beautiful it was…, not because it was perfect for me and made for me…it was simply all about HIM in that single moment. It was him trusting me to love him and his children unconditionally; it was the silence of what wasn’t said but deeply felt. It was truly one of the sweetest days of my life.

Some say our journey begins when we first enter this world, but I truly believe there are multiple journeys. Two of the most important journeys involves love and loving. The moment you find the right person you belong with, that you love with every fiber of your being, this is your  love journey.  As you grow old together and share a life together, this is the loving journey. With Micah, every page of every chapter since has been an amazing journey overflowing with love and adventure. We continue to live, learn and grow together as a family every day. It’s as if everything in our lives has led us to this moment. Our choices, our heartbreaks, even our regrets have brought us to this happy place and there is no place I’d rather be.
