Tis the Season to be Jolly...

But for Colin it was 'tis the season to be nervous'.  That whole week Colin was trying to plan an intimate dinner for us but since it was the Christmas holidays we had plans each evening.  Then Friday night came and Colin put his foot down (which is not like him) and said "I'm taking you to your favourite restaurant - The Keg tonight just us two".  He was sooooo quiet on the car ride there but I didn't think anything of it and instead turned on the radio.  We arrived at the restaurant, ordered our food and when the waitress took our plates away, Colin said "Close your eyes... I have a surprise for you".  That's when I knew something was up.  So when he said "Open your eyes", I said "No... you have to be on bended knee".  Colin proceeded to go on bended knee and said "Open your eyes now".  Once again I said "No... you have to take it out of the box".  Poor Colin... at this point he could have turned around and said 'forget this' but he obliged.  He said again "Now will you open your eyes" and at this point, I did and he said "Will You Marry Me?".  But we all know my eyes were open the whole time :)

Groom

That’s what she said! Here is the real scoop.

The Date was Dec 16 and Ani had met up with about five or six of her girlfriends at a favorite downtown sushi bar (thank goodness for synchronized phone calenders lol!) for one of her usual get togethers to catch up with each others current events. They were kicking back, laughing and having a lot of drinks, while listening to some bad karaoke singers. Ani was eating dragon rolls, california rolls and lots of fruit cocktails.

I secretly flagged down the waiter to hide the velvet gift box with the next wave of sushi rolls that went to Ani's table. By the time she could open it, that is when they heard, 'Next up on the stage, David.' She didn't think twice about it since David is a popular name. But when she looked up, she saw HER Colin as David. I began to belt out, Europe's Rock the Night and she was in shock.

At the end of the song, he said into the mic, 'Ani, I just wanted you to know that I AM in it for the long haul.' And there, on the stage I jumped down and went over to their wasted table and proposed on bended knee and she belched YES!... The rest is history! Too bad nobody remembers to clearly.
